Evangelion 1.0 to be Screened at AFI Dallas 2009

FUNimation has announced that Evangelion:1.0 You Are (Not) Alone will screen at the AFI Dallis Film Festival. The festival runs from March 26th through April 2nd. No specific time has been given for the film.

Evangelion:1.0 You Are (Not) Alone is one of four films that comprise a remake of the original Neon Genesis Evangelion. Hideaki Anno and his studio Khara are in charge of the remake.

According to AnimeNation the official homepage for K-On now has the Comic Market 75 teaser trailer up.

The anime is being produced by Kyoto Animation and debuts in April.

Summary from the official site:

Trying to escape his uneventful life, Albert, the son of a renowned general from Paris, makes a journey with his friend Franz. During his travels, he meets an immensely wealthy nobleman named The Count of Monte Cristo. Living in luxurious hotels, surrounded by beautiful women and strong bodyguards, the charming but enigmatic count fascinates Albert. Albert invites the count to join the high society of Paris. However, unknown to Albert, his father had once framed the count and took the Count’s fiancee as his own.

The series was originally licensed and released by Geneon Entertainment in 2005.

Yurumeitsu Manga to be Animated

According to Anime News Network, the four-panel manga Yurumeitsu is getting animated. Yurumeitsu follows the story of Yurume, a “ronin” who moves in to a new apartment complex to study for next year’s entrance exams.

Maria Holic Anime Episode Streaming Online

Maria HolicThe first episode of Maria Holic is now available for streaming on Animate.tv. Registration on the site is required and the episode is only available in Japanese.

Maria Holic is a romantic comedy based on the manga by Minari Endo. The story follows Kanako, a high school girl who is afraid of men and in search of her perfect female love. Unbeknowst to Kanako, her perfect girl is actually a crossdressing boy.

Mainichi Kasan Anime Next Spring

Mainichi Kasan is the work of Rieko Saibara and follows the story of her and her two kids. The manga has been running in the Mainichi Shimbum newspaper weekly since 2002.

‘Ponyo’ English Dub Actors Announced

The English dub cast for the latest Miyazaki film, Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea, has been announced.

The English dub will feature the voices of Matt Damon, Tina Fey, Cate Blanchett, Liam Neeson, Lily Tomlin, Betty White, Fankie Jonas, Noah Cyrys and Cloris Leachman.

Although the cast has been announced, actual roles have not.
