According to Anime News Network, the four-panel manga Yurumeitsu is getting animated. Yurumeitsu follows the story of Yurume, a “ronin” who moves in to a new apartment complex to study for next year’s entrance exams.

A new anime version of Mainichi Kasan (Everyday Mom) will be animated for television next spring.
Mainichi Kasan is the work of Rieko Saibara and follows the story of her and her two kids. The manga has been running in the Mainichi Shimbum newspaper weekly since 2002.

Spielberg, Smith to Remake Oldboy Manga
Sunday, November 23rd, 2008News of an Oldboy remake, acquired by Steven Spielberg, had surfaced a few weeks ago, but now Will Smith has been quoted:
We’re looking at that right now. Not the film though, it’s the original source material. There’s the original comics of ‘Oldboy’ that they made the first film from. And that’s what we’re working from, not an adaptation of the film
Smith is set to star in Spielberg’s Oldboy.

Hellsing Manga Comes To An End
Wednesday, October 1st, 2008Young King Ours’ November issue has published the last of Hellsing. Kouta Hirano’s Hellsing manga ran for 11 years.
Hirano plans to start his next work at the start of next year.
